IPANEMA, with the collaboration of The Cyprus Institute, in the context of the European project Open Sesame (H2020-INFRASUPP-2016-2017/H2020-INFRASUPP-2016-1, GA n.730943), is organising a Training school, dedicated to the study of ancient materials with synchrotron spectroscopy and imaging techniques : https://am-open-sesame.sciencesconf.org.
The School will be held at The Cyprus Institute (Nicosia), from 14 to 18 May 2018.
The programme includes :
- Lectures by renowned researchers working at synchrotron facilities
- A hands-on workshop to design research projects involving synchrotron techniques
- Social exchanges and activities to meet and socialise with other School attendees
The Scientific Committee of the School will select participants. This Scientific Committee will be independent : it will gather experts from different countries, both from Sesame Consortium countries and from France. Experts from Sesame Consortium countries will not be in charge of the examination of applications coming from their country.
The School is free of charge. The School will accept up to 20 participants coming from or working in one of the members of the Sesame Consortium : Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Palestinian Authority, Pakistan, Turkey.
The Open Sesame project will pay for travel and accommodation of participants coming from these countries. Participants belonging to institutions that are not members of the Sesame Consortium will have to cover their expenses.
