Launch of the European project OPEN SESAME in January 2017

par Bénédicte Charbonnel - publié le

The kick-off meeting of the European project OPEN SESAME will take place on 16th and 17th of January 2017 in Brussels.

Funded by the European programme for research and innovation Horizon 2020 (H2020-INFRASUPP-2016-2017 call), this project aims at supporting the SESAME synchrotron (Jordan) to ensure its optimal exploitation, mainly through trainings for SESAME staff, support to build-up human capacity in Middle East researchers and training for SESAME and its user community in public outreach and corporate communications.

OPEN SESAME project is coordinated by the ERSF and funded for three years. IPANEMA is involved in three Work Packages : trainings on data analysis and organisation of a thematic school on heritage materials, which includes the light source techniques themselves, but also the associated sample handling and ethical considerations.
