PATRIMA and the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) are co-organising a workshop on advanced studies of graphic documents on 24 January 2017 at the French ministry of Culture.
This one-day event will be dedicated to the analysis and advanced studies of graphic documents, and consequently of material heritage whose materials are linked to graphic documents (paper, parchment, copper, cellulosic textiles, etc.). Digital humanities topics and texts analysis will also be addressed. This event is notably organized in the context of the visit in France of Professor Uwe Bergmann of Standford University who is currently invited at IPANEMA. He will deliver a communication on X Ray methods to decrypt ancient documents. Jiayi Li, PhD candidate at IPANEMA, will also present synchrotron radiation micro-tomography methods to study mineralized textiles.
