Internship opportunity : characterization of African glass beads from the Musée de l’Homme.

SOLEIL Synchrotron and the IPANEMA laboratory offer a research internship focused on the study and characterization of African glass beads from the cultural anthropology collections of the Musée de l’Homme.

This project takes an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of materials science and heritage science. It aims to improve our understanding of the composition, manufacturing processes, and circulation of these objects across different periods and cultural regions.

The intern will take part in the implementation of advanced analytical protocols using the facilities and instruments of SOLEIL Synchrotron and IPANEMA, within a team composed of physicists, chemists, and anthropologists.

This internship is intended for master’s-level students interested in applied research in cultural heritage and in gaining experience in the physico-chemical characterization of ancient materials.
