“I joined IPANEMA in March 2022 as part of my end-of-studies internship, during which I worked on Pierre Soulages’ oil paintings from 1958-1961 using micro-imaging and spectroscopy techniques in the laboratory and synchrotron. After obtaining my master’s degree, I further explored this research topic and assisted external users of the European IPERION-HS project with instruments such as photoluminescence microscopy and FTIR spectroscopy. In October 2024, I began a thesis in materials science on the phenomenon of softening of the paint layers in certain modern oil paintings from the mid-20th century (under the supervision of Mathieu Thoury from IPANEMA and Laurent Binet from IRCP/Chimie ParisTech).”
