This year, in addition to the sunshine of Rio and the SUN of the Saclay plateau, IPANEMA is heading for the sunshine of Marseille! The 56th Journées de Statistique, the annual conference organised by the Société Française des Statistiques, takes place this year from 2 to 6 June, at the Saint Charles campus in Marseille.
Maxime Megel will be presenting recent work on the segmentation of X-ray Fluorescence images to which the laboratory is contributing, in collaboration with other statistician colleagues.
The algorithm developed enables XRF mappings to be broken down into elementally homogeneous zones, with greatly reduced computation times, making it a tool of choice for rapid and optimised exploration of the mappings.
The work presented was carried out at IPANEMA by Serge Cohen and Maxime Megel, in close collaboration with Agnès Grimaud (UVSQ, Laboratoire de Mathématiques de Versailles), as well as Gilles Celeux and Christine Keribin (Université Paris-Saclay, Inria, Laboratoire de mathématiques d’Orsay).
